This new technology converts patient records to an electronic system that documents medical history, conditions, treatments, allergies, medications, test results, visits and referrals. All data is recorded electronically and can be retrieved by authorized caregivers.
How does an EMR system benefit me?

Electronic systems improve access to a patient’s full medical history and helps to coordinate better patient care.
Once your information is entered, the EMR system will make it easier to update, reducing errors and saving you time!
The EMR system will make it easier for your doctors to access your information during your visit.
The EMR system will make it easier to make appointments, request refills and monitor tests results.
Overall the EMR system will help us serve you better!

What can I expect when I arrive for my appointment?

Your first visit to Bone & Joint Surgery after February 1 may involve a few additional steps:

For both new and established patients, we will need to enter and verify your information to make sure it is up to date.
All documentation of your visit and any tests, referrals or medications will be entered electronically.

During the EMR implementation process you will also notice additional Meriter Information Systems staff members who are here assisting our doctors and clinical staff with the new EMR system.
Your patience and cooperation during this transition to EpicCare is sincerely appreciated. If you have any questions please feel free to contact a member of our staff or our Clinic Administrator. We will be glad to answer any questions you may have.

9/1/2011: Bone & Joint Surgery in Ft Atkinson is Moving

Beginning October 27, Dr. Holly Duck will be seeing patients at our new location within the Advanced Wellness & Education Center (AWE) located next to Sport & Spine Clinic of Ft Atkinson. These fees, which can add hundreds of dollars per visit, are often not covered by insurance plans or may be applied to a plan's hospital deductible, which can be thousands of dollars higher than a physician deductible.
